About Habit:


Habit's mission is to bring context and meaningfulness to the way insurance is sold. We are a technology provider and insurance distribution platform by bridging non-insurance brands and companies with insurers. For instance: a Bike Store would like to sell also a Bike Insurance, a Veternary would like to sell a Pet Insurance.

We are a small team, with full freedom of choice between full or partial remote, with monthly extra days off and other perks.

Our BE team is currently responsible for 3 main deliveries:

  • Core platform (Python)
  • Provide APIs for distributors, insurers, our internal core tools/rules engine, and web applications (Python)
  • 3rd parties API integrations and business rule implementation, for each insurance product (JavaScript)


BE developers main responsibilities:

  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging and deploy/monitoring scripts
  • Write clean code to develop functional web applications
  • Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use (some of them opensource projects)


Our tech stack: Javascript, Python, C++, Rust, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in Python or Javascript
  • Proven experience with RESTful API's development, Third-party integrations, Git
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Open to learning new technologies


NICE TO HAVE

  • Previous experience with OAuth authentication
  • Previous experience in using relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis or others)
